Abstract:Molecules confined within nanometer‐scale environments frequently exhibit a distinct physical response in contrast to those found in bulk conditions. In this study, intercalates of lauric acid (LA) are synthesized within halloysite nanotubes (HNT), successfully trapping 12 wt.% of LA within the internal HNT tube, as demonstrated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and wide‐angle and small‐angle X‐ray scattering (WAXS/SAXS) techniques. Furthermore, it is noted that the confinement of LA within the HNT lu… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
