With the continuous technological enhancement of banking services, customers can avail of better, more secure services which present improved opportunities and convenience. Of the many methods available to perform banking operations, customers commonly use traditional banking, online banking, and mobile banking. Each of these existing methods has advantages and limitations that affect customer experience, trust, satisfaction, and continued intention to use such services. In this study, an attempt was made to develop and fit a model to evaluate and measure the effect of perceived characteristics on banking services. To this end, a questionnaire was administered to 91 participants in Korea to investigate their experiences in the three types of services: offline banking (traditional banking), online banking, and automated teller machines (ATM). The factor design for evaluating the user experience through the perceived characteristics of the banking system was performed by conducting exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. The proposed model exhibited validity and reliability to evaluate the user experience in the banking system. The results obtained can help banking specialists and professionals increase the level of customers’ trust, loyalty, and intention to use their services.

Although a large variety of methodologies, contexts and perspectives have been used to examine educational application of technology, there is a paucity of instruments that are designed to comprehensively evaluate the use of technology in education. This paper presents a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) of an instrument that incorporates eight key dimensions: learning, affective, behavioral, technology, design, pedagogy, presence/community, and institutional environment. These dimensions were derived from rigorous systematic literature review and field specialist validation processes. The model was then refined and empirically confirmed in this study by 1,352 participants undertaking a Coursera open online course. The results of applying the instrument, as well as qualitative feedback from participants, are shared to illustrate its breadth and utility. The final 28 item “Comprehensive Evaluation of Use of Technology in Education” instrument is provided in full to support consistent, holistic and robust evaluation and comparison of technology use across educational contexts.

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the situation in education. In order to ensure the safety of students' health during the outbreak of the epidemic on the territory of the Russian Federation, all higher education institutions have switched to distance learning. The consequences of this large-scale experiment are yet to be evaluated. The aim of this study consisted of examining satisfaction with distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. An online survey was conducted in June 2020. The interviewees included 268 students. Distance learning currently serves as a backup option or an additional element to the traditional form of education. The experience received by students during the pandemic did not generate much interest in distance learning; on the contrary, it was associated with many difficulties. The study revealed the most reactive position of the majority of students. The results of the research demonstrated that satisfaction with distance learning depended on sex and the year of study. The experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic highlights that universities should increasingly develop and implement elements of distance learning in order to enhance the willingness of all participants to switch to this form in case of an emergency.
