The study of hydrographic basins is of paramount importance for the conscious and sustainable use of natural resources, so the analysis of a basin is of great scientific value, as it is a starting point for understanding the hydrological network and all the dynamics connected to it. The present work aims to study the morphometric characteristics, the use and cover of the soil and the runoff indexes of the areas included in the hydrographic basin of the Arienga River, located between the municipalities of Barcarena and Abaetetuba, in the state of Pará. processing techniques were used in the ArcMap 10.5 application, with the help of TerraClass and images from the Sentinel-2 satellite. In the morphometric analysis, parameters such as area, perimeter and relief characteristics were verified. Using the TerraClass classification, land use and cover for the years 2004 and 2014 were analyzed and, for the year 2017, this analysis was verified with the aid of Sentinel-2 images. Then, the runoff coefficient was measured for the three years under study, 2004, 2014 and 2017. Thus, the spatial analysis proved to be advantageous in understanding the use and anthropic interferences acting in the hydrographic basin.
