Abstract:The peptide pQDPFLR Famide is one of several closely related heptapeptides found in invertebrates, including molluscs. Electrophysiological findings and ligand binding studies have both suggested that these heptapeptides probably interact with receptors distinct from those that are activated b y the related tetrapeptide FMRFamide (also found in the same group of invertebrates), despite the fact that some synthetic N-terminally extended analogues of the latter show marked tetrapeptidelike activity. We have carr… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
