Congenital Cartilaginous Rests of the Neck (Wattles)

Abstract: BACKGROUND. Congenital cartilaginous rests of the neck (wattles) are very rare, probably branchiogenic malformations. OBJECTIVE. To discuss the clinical and histologic features and the therapy of wattles.METHODS. We report a 4-year-old patient with symmetric exophytic nodules of the neck that had been present since birth.RESULTS. The two lesions, 0.5 ϫ 0.5 cm, were removed.
