“…The right upper quadrant location of the mass led us to suspect an intestinal duplication or choledocal cyst, but the pancreatic nature of the lesion could not be determined. It is actually extremely difficult to distinguish a pancreatic cyst from other intra-abdominal cystic masses, i.e., biliary tract lesion such as choledocal cysts, gastrointestinal obstructions, gastrointestinal duplication cysts, or mesenteric cysts (Fleet et al, 1993). Moreover, the precise nature of these lesions is often difficult to determine sonographically after birth, and in our particular case, we had to use computed tomography and upper gastrointestinal series to reveal the pancreatic location of the cyst.…”
