“…Es posible vincular la información espacio-temporal con técnicas algorítmicas, a fin de analizar problemas de decisión complejos con base en criterios múltiples, considerando estudios exploratorios, análisis históricos y estadísticos. La representación geográfica permite describir el escenario actual, visualizar un escenario alternativo y predecir cambios probables con diferentes agentes, lo que es esencial para una toma de decisiones efectivas hacia el manejo sostenible de los recursos naturales 23 .…”

“…Figure 12 depicts forest biomass ranging less than 300 Gg and the corresponding weight. The flora and fauna details (Figure 13) were compiled from the field and published literature [15,23], and weights were assigned as per the occurrence of species based on their conservation status. The district has 435 species of flora under 106 families with vulnerable species such as Chloroxylon swietenia, Santalum album, and very rare species such as Ehretia laevis.…”

“…Ecologically susceptible zones (ESZs) or Eco-sensitive Zones (ESZs) or Ecologically Fragile Areas (EFAs) are "distinct geographical regions with a higher assemblage of diverse species, rich natural resources, natural communities, and environmental conditions" [23,24], prioritized for conservation and application of prudent management strategies to sustain the livelihood of local communities. The areas are graded or demarcated by integrating distinct spatial characteristics based on bio geo-climatic conditions and ecological and social factors.…”

“…Krishna is a prominent east flowing river of the Peninsular India, which sustains diverse ecosystems in four states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The river originates in wet evergreen forests of Western Ghats at an elevation of 1337 m near Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra State (Ramachandra et al, 2017) and flows in arid and scrub lands of Deccan plateau before joining Bay of Bengal with the formation of mangrove delta at the mouth. Apart from forested areas, the water flows through vast expanse of agricultural lands with diverse cropping patterns and through densely populated urban/peri-urban areas.…”
