Conservative Treatment for Isolated Superior Mesenteric Artery Dissection With Severely Narrowed True Lumen

Abstract: A 59-year-old male presented to the emergency department with distressing epigastric pain after seeking medical attention at a nearby clinic three hours prior. Upon examination, the attending physician noticed edematous changes in the proximal segment of the superior mesenteric artery, and a subsequent enhanced computed tomography (CT) scan confirmed the diagnosis of an isolated dissection of the artery.
