Abstract:Constraint Handling Rules provide descriptions for constraint solvers. However, they fall short when those constraints specify some binding structure, like higher-rank types in a constraintbased type inference algorithm. In this paper, the term syntax of constraints is replaced by λ-tree syntax, in which binding is explicit; and a new ∇ generic quantifier is introduced, which is used to create new fresh constants. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
