“…6a and b demonstrate the light-harvesting characteristics of the constructed catalysts as evaluated by the UV-vis technique. 55 The undoped ZnO demonstrated a band edge at around 389 nm, suggesting that these synthesized NPs are inactive in the visible region related to their larger band gap energy value of 3.24 eV. Moreover, a marginal enhancement in visible-light harvesting is reflected for 4NZO, which is compatible with a decrease in their bandgap value ( E g = 3.08 eV).…”

“…The construction of a heterojunction using semiconductors with a suitable energy band and ZnO has been proved to be an efficient solution. CuS/ZnO, 9 TiO 2 / ZnO, 10 ZnO/CdS/MoS 2 , 11 Ag 2 CO 3 /ZnO, 12 ZnO/ZnS/MoS 2 , 13 N-ZnO/g-C 3 N 4 , 14 Cd 0.5 Zn 0.5 S/ZnO, 15 and other heterojunctions have been successfully constructed, which indeed show enhanced separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs and absorption of visible light. Nevertheless, due to the disordered migration of photogenerated carriers, electrons and holes still have high recombination rates within the bulk phase of the catalyst, limiting the photocatalytic efficiency.…”

“…39,40 Hence, ZnO was obtained by low-temperature carbonization of ZIF-L, which not only preserves the benefits of the metal-organic framework, but also successfully addresses the problems of rapid compounding of ZnO photogenerated carriers. 41 Additionally, it is reported that nitrogen atoms can substitute for oxygen…”
