“…This would increase the awareness and knowledge of healthcare professionals in the principles of palliative care and expand the scope and quality of palliative care provided to patients and their families throughout Israel. The courses comprise six sessions, follow a uniform 43-hour curriculum, and are carried out all over the county, in hospitals, health plans and a few nursing homes [31,32]. Although several countries have also established nationwide palliative care education programs, only a few studies have examined the sustainability of the outcomes (14-16).
