Constructing Stable MoOx-NiSx Film via Electrodeposition and Hydrothermal Method for Water Splitting

Shihu Zhu,
Tiantian Liu,
Shuang Yu
et al.

Abstract: The hydrothermal method is a frequently used approach for synthesizing HER electrocatalysts. However, a weak tolerance to high temperature is an intrinsic property of carbon cloth (CC) in most situations, and CC-based catalysts, which require complex technological processes in low-temperature environments, exhibit weak stability and electrochemical performance. Hence, we provide a new solution for these issues. In this work, MoO3-NiSx films of 9H5E-CC catalysts are synthesized, first through electrodeposition … Show more

“…At present, RuO 2 , IrO 2 and other noble metal catalysts are commonly recognized to be commercially used in electrochemical water-splitting applications, but their scarcity and high price presented an obstacle to scale-up [19][20][21][22][23]. Comparatively, a large number of nonnoble-metal-based catalysts, especially transition metal sulfides [24][25][26] phosphates [27], nitrides [28][29][30] and hydroxide [31,32], have been extensively studied due to their abundant earth reserves, low price and tunable electronic structure.…”
