Construction of an Octanuclear Zn(II)‐Yb(III) Schiff Base Complex for the NIR Luminescent Sensing of Nitrofuran Antibiotics

Abstract: Zn(II)-Yb(III) complex | Schiff base | Near-infrared (NIR) luminescence | Luminescent sensing | Antibiotics One near-infrared (NIR) luminescent octanuclear Zn(II)-Yb(III) complex [Zn 6 Yb 2 L 4 (OAc) 2 (DMF)EtOH] ( 1) was obtained from a new multidentate Schiff base ligand. It exhibits interesting luminescent sensing activity to antibiotics, in particular to nitrofuran antibiotics (NFAs) with high sensitivity due to the inner filter effect. The NIR luminescence quenching constants and limits of the detection o… Show more

“…Our current research has focused on the sensing properties of luminescent lanthanide-based complexes. 17–19 In this work, we present the sensing properties of a Cd 8 Tb 4 nanoring [Cd 8 Tb 4 L 8 (OAc) 8 ]·4OH ( 1 ), synthesized from a salen-type ligand 6,6′-((1 E ,1′ E )-(((butane-1,4-diylbis(oxy))bis(2,1-phenylene))bis(azaneylylidene))bis(methaneylylidene))bis(2-methoxyphenol) (H 2 L, Scheme 1). Interestingly, 1 shows luminescence response to DPA.…”
