Consumer Borrowing

Abstract: This chapter fi rst presents an overview of consumer debt and its relevance to consumer economic wellbeing. And then the research literature on several debt categories such as mortgage, vehicle, education, credit card, and payday loans is described. Finally, the chapter reviews the research literature on consumer bankruptcy.
