Juvenile delinquency is one of the problems and one of the causes of this phenomenon is the intake of alcoholism and narcotics in adolescents. This study aims to evaluate how the abuse of ingesting substances, particularly narcotics and alcohol, affects the behavior of adolescents in the Santo Domingo Canton of Ecuador. A qualitative modality was used through the execution of a survey. Age influences the behavior of these adolescents and the level of consumption of these substances, with theft due to the use of marijuana, amphetamines and cocaine being the drugs to which they have the most access and for which new studies must be carried out that include psychological treatments to reduce these cases in this population sector.
