Abstract:Post-transplantation diabetes mellitus (PTDM) and prediabetes are associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in kidney transplant recipients (KTR), when diagnosed by an oral glucose tolerance test (oGTT). Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) display low concordance with the oGTT in the early phase posttransplant.
