Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Therapy Improves Heterogeneity of R-R intervals in a Patient with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome

Abstract: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is associated with the occurrence of various kinds of bradyarrhythmia and tachyarrhythmia. The activation of the autonomic nerve system is an important causative factor of the pathogenesis of the arrhythmia in OSA patients. Previous studies have shown that the R-R interval is an effective parameter for evaluating autonomic nerve activities. However, whether or not OSA can induce variations in the R-R interval and whether or not continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy ca… Show more

“…Средний интервал R-R до CPAP-терапии составлял 773 мс (стандартное отклонение -178 мс), после одного месяца наблюдалось уменьшение распределения интервалов R-R (средний интервал R-R: 887 мс, стандартное отклонение: 113 мс). Также после CPAP-терапии не регистрировалась БрА (остановка СУ и АВБ) [37].…”

“…The sparsely populated result columns indicate that HR for sleep disorder detection is a research area which is still in its initial exploration phase. Scientific studies, like the most recent one by Yajima et al [32], are still concerned with feature engineering, which aims to establish the role of HR based sleep disorder detection. The studies, detailed in Table 2, were based on private data sets.…”
