Abstract: Introduction. Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is an ester of 2-ethylhexanol and terephthalic acid. It is a new generation plasticizer that is used as a more environmentally friendly and safer substitute for dioctyl phthalate (DOP) and other phthalates.
