Contribution of Mesoscale Convective Systems to Floods in the East Asian Summer Monsoon Region

Abstract:The quantitative relationship between Mesoscale Convective Systems (MCSs) and floods over East Asia has not been established. In this study, MCSs are clustered into four types with Self‐Organizing Map approach. Floods in June‐August of 2000–2021 are linked with different types of MCS by automated algorithms we constructed.
