Controllable Synthesis, Photocatalytic Property, and Mechanism of a Novel POM-Based Direct Z-Scheme Nano-Heterojunction α-Fe2O3/P2Mo18

Yanlin Zhang,
Mingyu Zhao,
Jubo Huang
et al.

Abstract: In order to improve photocatalytic activity and maximize solar energy use, a new composite material Fe2O3/P2Mo18 was prepared by combining polyoxometalates (P2Mo18) with Fe2O3 nanosheets. FT-IR, XRD, XPS, SEM, TEM, UV-vis, EIS, and PL were used to characterize the composite material, and nano-Fe2O3 of different sizes and morphologies with a controllable absorption range was prepared by adjusting the reaction time, and, when combined with P2Mo18, a composite photocatalyst with efficient visible light response a… Show more

“…Also, the intensity of the NH group of adsorbents placed at 1541 cm −1 decreased after MB adsorption due to hydrogen bonds with MB molecules. Other proposed physical interactions between adsorbents and MB molecules are electrostatic interaction between COO of adsorbents and cationic dye and л‐л interaction between MB and the aromatic ring of CB 41,42 . The synthesized adsorbents are pH‐responsive, so electrostatic interaction between adsorbents and dye molecules can be manipulated by adjusting the pH of the MB solution.…”

“…Molecular electrostatic potential (MESP) analysis was employed to describe regions of charge density accumulation. 31 Molecular orbital and QTAIM BCP isosurfaces were visualized using VMD software, 32 while Origin software facilitated the visualization of the density of states (DOS). 33 Chemcraft 1.8 was utilized to present the structural geometry, including bond lengths, bond angles, and the distance of hydrogen molecule adsorption.…”

“…The nonmagnetic nature MnO 2 , TiO 2 , ZnO, ZnS, and so on make it difficult for them to recover from the treated medium and recycle them for multiple operations. This problem can be addressed using MNPs, such as spinel-structured ferrites. The spinel ferrites are more efficient and cost-effective than ordinary magnetic materials for performing advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). The MNPs-driven AOPs can be the best alternatives to the adsorption, precipitation, and filtration process .…”
