This research paper presents an eco-epidemiological model that investigates the intricate dynamics of a predator–prey system, considering the impact of fear-induced stress, hunting cooperation, global warming, and memory effects on species interactions. The model employs fractional-order derivatives to account for temporal dependencies and memory in ecological processes. By incorporating these factors, we aim to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the underlying mechanisms that govern the stability and behavior of ecological systems. Mathematically we investigate system’s existence, equilibria and their stability. Moreover, global stability and hopf bifurcation also analyzed in this study. Numerical simulations have been performed to validate the analytical results. We find that the coexistence equilibrium is stable under specific conditions, along with the predator equilibrium and the disease-free equilibrium. Bifurcation analyses demonstrate the intricate behavior of species densities in response to changes in model parameters. Fear and global warming are found to stabilize the system, while cooperation and additional food for predators lead to destabilization. Additionally, the influence of species memory has been explored. We observe that memory tends to stabilize the system as species memory levels increase.

Every successful species invasion is facilitated by both ecological and evolutionary mechanisms. The evolution of population’s fitness related traits acts as functional adaptations to Allee effects. This trade-off increases predatory success at an expense of elevated death rate of potential predators. We address our queries employing an eco-evolutionary modeling approach that provides a means of circumventing inverse density-dependent effect. In the absence of evolution, the ecological system potentially exhibits multi-stable configurations under identical ecological conditions by allowing different bifurcation scenarios with the Allee effect. The model predicts a high risk of catastrophic extinction of interacting populations around different types of saddle-node bifurcations resulting from the increased Allee effect. We adopt the game-theoretic approach to derive the analytical conditions for the emergence of evolutionarily stable strategy (ESS) when the ecological system possesses asymptotically stable steady states as well as population cycles. We establish that ESSs occur at those values of adopted evolutionary strategies that are local optima of some functional forms of model parameters. Overall, our theoretical study provides important ecological insights in predicting successful biological invasions in the light of evolution.

Cooperation observed in nearly all living systems, ranging from human and animal societies down to the scale of bacteria populations, is an astounding process through which individuals act together for mutual benefits. Despite being omnipresent, the mechanism behind the emergence and existence of cooperation in populations of selfish individuals has been a puzzle and exceedingly crucial to investigate. A number of mechanisms have been put forward to explain the stability of cooperation in the last years. In this work, we explore the evolution of cooperation for alike (assortative) interactions in populations subject to social viscosity in terms of zealous individuals. We present a comprehensive study on how a finite fraction of these committed minorities present in both cooperators and defectors govern the evolutionary game dynamics where interactions among the individuals with same strategy are more probable than random interactions. We perform a detailed analysis concerning this synergy between alike interaction and the social viscosity in the opposing individuals. We scrutinize all three principal social dilemmas, namely, the prisoner’s dilemma, the stag-hunt, and the snowdrift game, under such evolutionary setting. We have been successful to delineate this evolutionary scenario theoretically based upon the generalized replicator dynamics in the well-mixed regime.
