Cooperative compressed spectrum sensing model for regional radio monitoring

Abstract: Detection and direction finding of illegal emission source is the core issue of radio monitoring network. However, the performances of traditional fixed stations and mobile stations which are based on energy detection and work individually are often compromised with multipath fading and shadowing in urban environment. To mitigate the impact of these issues, a cooperative compressed spectrum sensing model which consists of several sensing nodes and a fusion node is proposed in this paper. The maximum-minimum ei… Show more

“…In this regard, we carried out researches on radio monitoring in specific areas based on spectrum sensing and explored on design approach for antenna minimization of spectrum sensors (Zhang et al, ). A cooperative compressed spectrum sensing model was proposed (Yang et al, ). Besides, a spectrum monitoring system based on spectrum sensing and LabVIEW to measure illegal broadcasting signals (Yang et al, , ; Zhang et al, ) was also developed.…”

“…An urban environment with a high concentration of devices connected to wireless networks poses a serious challenge for a standalone central sensing element [7]. In this scenario, building the electromagnetic situation awareness with a distributed spectrum monitoring system can provide the best area coverage [8].…”
