To facilitate intelligent vehicles in making informed decisions and plans, the precise and efficient prediction of vehicle trajectories is imperative. However, a vehicle’s future trajectory is not solely determined by its own historical path; it is also influenced by neighboring vehicles (NVs). Hence, understanding the interactions between vehicles is crucial for trajectory prediction. Additionally, the computational challenges posed by long sequence time-series forecasting (LSTF) add complexity to trajectory prediction tasks. This paper introduces a novel network, named Sparse Attention Graph Convolution Network (SAGCN), designed to comprehensively consider the trajectory interaction details of multiple vehicles, optimizing the LSTF for the target vehicle (TV). Specifically, grounded in real-world driving scenarios and vehicle interaction nuances, a multi-vehicle topology graph is formulated to amalgamate the historical trajectories of the TV and the interaction trajectories of NVs. The SAGCN network employs the Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) to assimilate and analyze diverse features within the multi-vehicle topology graph, subsequently computing the future trajectory of the vehicle through a sparse attention mechanism. The proposed method is validated and evaluated using natural datasets. The results demonstrate that, in comparison to state-of-the-art methods, the SAGCN network presented attains exceptional prediction accuracy and satisfactory time efficiency when predicting the trajectories of TV in LSTF.

The dynamic performance of a vertically rotating centrifugal pendulum vibration absorber (CPVA) during engine start-up was investigated. The equations of motion were established using a Lagrange equation of the second kind containing terms for gravity and the motion-limiting device of the absorber, respectively. The optimal positioning of the motion-limiting device was determined from the perspective of CPVA stability and damping capability, and the terminology for the CPVA damping quality factor was defined to evaluate the damping capability of the absorber. Simulink models were established to simulate the behaviour of the absorbers at different speeds during engine initiation and assess the impact between the absorber and motion-limiting device during engine start. Based on the results, the concept of knocking power was proposed, and it was shown that resonance occurring during engine start worsens the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) performance of the system. It was further shown that the initial position of the absorber at the moment of engine start to turn affects the knocking power and, as a result, the startup noise of the CPVA. The study also finds that the transient position of the absorber at the engine ignition time affects the knocking power. The responses of CPVA under different working conditions were tested on an electric bench and compared with simulation results. Based on our results, we propose several measures to control absorber behaviour and reduce knocking power.

To improve the starting performance of the P2.5 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles with a wet dual-clutch transmission, an adaptive starting control strategy is presented in this paper, which controls the two clutches simultaneously involved in the starting process. A fuzzy controller is designed to identify the starting intention and determine the target torque under different working conditions. The starting process is divided into five periods, and linear quadratic optimal control is adopted to obtain the reference torque trajectory for the third period, while the others are determined by adaptive control by changing the adjustment coefficients according to the starting conditions. The combined pressure feedback controller based on the PID algorithm is proposed to control the wet clutch torque to follow the reference torque trajectory. The MATLAB/Simulink software platform is used to simulate the control strategy. The results show that the proposed strategy can shorten the starting time and reduce the level of jerk. Moreover, with the first-gear starting, the friction work of the whole process and clutch C1 is, respectively, reduced by 1.68% and 4.62% for slowly starting and 23.37% and 23.6% for quickly starting, which can significantly prolong the service lifetime of the clutch compared with the traditional single-clutch starting strategy.
