“…However, due to the fact that most of the above methods are based on the assumption that the velocities of UAVs are constants, the applicability of them is limited to some extent. For this reason, some researchers have managed to introduce the consistency theory into cooperative guidance [12,13] and divide the design of the guidance law into two stages [14]. The first stage is to design the acceleration command along the direction of the line of sight using the consistency theory, to ensure the consensus on the impact time.…”

“…An optimal guidance law was proposed in Chen and Wang (2019) and both impact time and impact angle requirements were achieved under small heading error approximation. The restrictive assumption of missiles’ small heading angles was relaxed in Sinha et al (2022) and the sliding mode control method was adopted to nullify the impact time error. Different from individual homing methods, cooperative guidance approaches do not need to determine a common impact time in advance.…”

“…To handle this issue, the backstepping method can be adopted to separately design the virtual control and the actual guidance command (Sinha et al, 2021a; Song and Song, 2019). Another effective method is the integrated guidance framework which can fully exploit the synergism between guidance and control subsystems (He and Lin, 2015; Iftisam et al, 2022; Sinha et al, 2022). From the perspective of practical application, great efforts have been devoted to coping with the uncertainties which extensively exist in real systems, such as modeling errors and external disturbances.…”
