“…Our experimental results proved that interactions between (HO) 10 Q [5] and the [PMo 12 O 40 ] 3anion not only result in hybrid supra-molecular assemblies [17] but could also be useful for the isolation of lanthanides in aqueous solutions. [18] Our results also revealed that the (HO) 10 In the present work, the interactions in (HO) 10 Q[5]-Ln 3+ -[SiW 12 O 40 ] 4systems are investigated ( Figure 1). The coordination and assembly of lanthanides cations with (HO) 10 Q [5] in the presence of [SiW 12 O 40 ] 4anions and transition metal salts show significant differences with increasing lanthanide atomic number.…”

“…Recently, it has been demonstrated that the reaction of perhydroxycucurbit [5]uril {(HO) 10 Q[5])} with a selection of Ln 3+ ions in the presence of K + and the polyoxometallate anion [PMo 12 O 40 ] 3− (as structure inducer) again results in recognition and structural discrimination between light and heavy La 3+ ions [86]. As before, three structural groups were isolated from different regions along the lanthanide series ( Fig.…”

“…Q [7]/Ln 3þ -based supramolecular assemblies have been used as solid coatings on solid-phase microextraction fibres (20). Moreover, the coordination or interaction of Q[n ]s with Ln 3þ or their complexes may be used for the recognition and isolation of lanthanide (cations) (14,18,21,22) and so on.…”
