Co-ordination compounds between ethyl cyanoacetate and boron trichloride, t i t a n i~~n l tctrabromide, ancl tetrachlorides of titanium, zirconium, and tin have been prepared. The analytical r e s~~l t s indicate that under similar experimental conditions, 1:l addition compounds arc obtaincci in each case. On the basis of infrared spectra it has been post~~latecl that the compounds ol~tainecl arc six-membered ring chelates, satisfying the most common co-ordination number SIX for the clcments of group IV.
