Copper anchored on phosphorus g-C3N4 as a highly efficient photocatalyst for the synthesis of N-arylpyridin-2-amines

Abstract: A copper modified phosphorus doped g-C3N4 (Cu/P-CN) has been prepared and identified as an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of N-arylpyridin-2-amine derivatives by the reaction of 2-aminopyridine and aryl boronic acid under the irradiation of blue light.

“…As part of our efforts directed towards the development of new heterogeneous catalysts for organic reactions, [ 22 ] herein, we synthesize nickel supported on magnetic biochar catalyst (defined as CoFe 2 O 4 /BC/PDA‐Ni) and probe its catalytic capabilities as a recyclable heterogeneous catalyst for the one‐pot synthesis of spirooxindole‐dihydropyridines (Scheme 1).…”

“…Minisci-type C–H functionalization of N-heteroarenes via radical addition provides efficient access to complex heteroarenes . Visible-light-mediated photoredox catalysis has emerged as a powerful technique in recent years, which could generate active radical intermediates under mild conditions, thus facilitating subsequent bond constructions . The development of Minisci reactions with visible light has attracted considerable attention, and diverse alkyl radical precursors, such as carboxylic acids, sulfonates, alcohols, aldehydes, and others, have been successfully employed in such transformations.…”

“…[ 18 ] Very recently, Di et al documented the coupling of 2‐aminopyridine and arylboronic acid to furnish N ‐arylpyridin‐2‐amine derivatives via irradiation of blue light using copper modified phosphorus‐doped g‐C 3 N 4 (Cu/P‐CN) as a heterogeneous photocatalyst. [ 19 ] Despite these important advances, the exploitation of new methodology to achieve copper‐catalyzed Chan–Lam reaction is an essential and challenging issue.…”
