Abstract:Diaryl sulfones are known to show diverse pharmacological properties, which calls for an efficient and convenient method for their synthesis. Here, we report a Cu-catalyzed crosscoupling method for the synthesis of diaryl sulfones from ptoluenesulfonyl hydrazide and aryl boronic acids in the absence of an additional ligand.
