Abstract:This study investigates the effect of surface modifications of the titanium substrate on the growth of electrochemically deposited copper. These materials are intended to serve as cathodes in the electroreduction of nitrates in aqueous solutions. Surface modifications included the use of hydrogen fluoride for titanium etching and anodization to promote the growth of a structured titania nanotube array.
