Coroiditis serpinginosa en paciente con carcinoma pulmonar

The coexistence of serpiginous-like choroiditis and a lung carcinoma has not previously been described.

“…7 Because autoimmune processes are major factors in the pathogenesis of both SC and ocular paraneoplastic syndrome, 1,2 it is reasonable to postulate that SLC can develop as a paraneoplastic condition. In fact, three previous reports described an association between SC and systemic malignancies, including lung carcinoma, 4 uterine cervix carcinoma, 5 and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. 6 However, to our knowledge, no report has described an association between an intraocular tumor or, more specifically, ciliochoroidal melanoma.…”

“…1,3 Rarely has SC been associated with systemic malignancy, with only three previous reported cases describing SC with the presence of lung carcinoma, uterine cervix carcinomas, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. [4][5][6] However, to our knowledge, no report has described a simultaneous presentation of SC and an intraocular tumor.…”
