Abstract:Coronary thrombolysis is a mainstay in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction occurring in men and women. Despite a higher in-hospital mortality that cannot be explained completely by age and comorbid illnesses, women clearly benefit. The relatively high rate of hemorrhagic complications requires further thought and investigation.
