Show more

“…With nearly 50% of saturated FAs, Dubois et al (2008) Since the other 50% of palm oil is composed of unsaturated FAs, we previously suggested distinguishing between a mixedfat group, a significant source at the same time of saturated FAs, mono-unsaturated FAs and poly-unsaturated FAs, alongside the groups that are sources of only one FA or one family of FAs: saturated, mono-unsaturated or polyunsaturated (Silou, 2014).…”

“…Most edible oils are obtained from so-called conventional plants such as, palm seeds, sunflower, olive etc. Besides this group of conventional oilseed plants, there are unconventional oilseeds which represent a very important part of the Africa's non-timber forest products [1]. The fruits of these plants contain 40-60 % fat.…”

“…That is why seventy oil species in the basin of the Congo, from 35 botanical families were studied; their oil content and their fatty acid compositions were determined. Very numerous works have been published on this topic (Binaki et al, 2013;Kapseu, 2009;Loumouamou, 2012;Womeni et al, 2011;Attibayeba et al, 2010;Silou, 2014). Despite all this work of valorization of oilseeds in the Congo basin, much of our fruit seeds have never been subjected to scientific studies in this area.…”
