Correlation and path analysis for yield and yield contributing traits in black gram [Vigna mungo (L) Hopper.]

Abstract: Tweenty one Black Gram (Vigna mungo (L) Hopper) genotypes were evacuated for the estimation of genetic variability parameters, correlation coefficient, path analysis, heritability and genetic advance. The genotypes differed significantly for all the characters. Higher GCV and PCV was observed for the seed index. High heritability coupled with genetic advance as percent of mean shown by harvest index indicating the impact of additve and significant correlation along with positive direct effect on grain yield.
