“…In contrast, fi gure illustrates the superconducting transition of YBaCuO which was routinely observed on SBN/(l 00)MgO as well as on SBN/(l00)SrTiO 3 at T c around 88.5 K. Moreover, the area under the x " peak (S(x. ")), a measurement of low frequency losses and which is strongly correlated to microwave losses [10], is in agreement with the low mixture of the two in-plane orientations (3 %) of the c-axis YBaCuO we have previously reported in the case of YBaCuO/MgO [ 1 0] . Then, the observed value of S(X, ") would imply a low surface resistance (smaller than 2 mQ).…”

“…The morphology is very dense for films grown on LAO, with purely (100) oriented square-shaped grains, similarly to films grown on the model substrate STO. On MgO, with a misfit hardly larger in absolute value, a slight tendency to columnar growth is observed; grains are again (100)-oriented, mainly square-shaped, while a small amount of 45 in-plane rotated crystallites is observed, similarly to the example of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 films grown on MgO [120], for which the growth mechanism was clearly explained in the frame of the Near Site Coincidence Lattice model [121]. On R-plane sapphire, a major (100) orientation and a minor (110) one occur, in agreement with results published previously [122]; grains are mostly diamond shaped; the in-plane dispersion of about 8 for the best samples is related to the geometry of the terminal plane of the substrate (a 0 ¼ 3.48 Å and ¼ 86 ).…”

“…Note that the maximum of χ ″( H ) curves is lower (thus indicating lower AC losses, which represent the energy dissipation during a cycle), for the fs-laser processed samples, especially for those irradiated in Ar and N 2 atmosphere and for magnetic fields applied parallel to the induced nanostructures ( y -axis). This could suggest lower surface resistance in these samples and conditions [ 43 ].…”
