BackgroundThe implementation of humanistic care is conducive to providing high quality nursing, improving patient satisfaction and establishing harmonious nursery-patient relationship. Current researchs show that humanistic caring ability is affected by emotional intelligence, empathy, interpersonal communication. But the exact relationship and internal mechanism of such factors have not been fully understood.ObjectiveTo explore the multiple mediating effect of empathy and communication ability on nursing students’ emotional intelligence and caring ability.MethodsA case study was conducted by examining a sample of 1,165 nursing students from a junior college in Anhui, China. The multidimensional scales, and a self-designed demographic characteristics questionnaire were utilized. Path relationships and mutual effects were tested using structural equation modeling (SEM).ResultsEmotional intelligence, empathy, and communication ability were found to positively affect nursing students’ caring ability, as well as positive interrelationships with one another (standardized estimate = 0.312–0.584, p < 0.001). Communication ability and empathy play an important role in mediating the association between emotional intelligence and caring ability, and the effect sizes are 0.169 and 0.121, respectively, while the effect value of empathy and communication ability in emotional intelligence and caring ability was 0.034, which showed partial mediation of the association. The indirect effect of the structural equation was 77.14%.ConclusionThe chain mediating role of empathy and communication ability in emotional intelligence and caring ability is explored, which not only enrichis previous studies, but also reveals the mechanism of emotional intelligence’s influence on caring ability. It is essential to continuously improve nursing students’ caring ability. From the perspective of nursing educators, they need to develop targeted approaches to help the nursing student improve their emotional intelligence, empathy, and communication skills, further enhancing their caring ability.

Objective The present study aims to analyze the current situation of scientific fitness literacy in nurses and provide a basis for all-round strategies for its improvement. Methods Nurses in tertiary hospitals were conveniently selected as subjects in order to investigate the current situation regarding the scientific fitness literacy of nurses. The selection process was completed via the demographics questionnaire and the adult scale of scientific fitness literacy in sports medicine integration. As the minimum sample size was 5–10 times the number of variables in the study of exploring influencing factors of related variables and using the equation , given 20% of invalid questionnaires, the sample size should be >600 persons. The methods used for statistical analysis were descriptive statistical analysis and the t -test. Results The scientific fitness literacy score in nurses was 110.81 ± 25.04 (relative value: 69.7%); this consisted of 50.85 ± 11.19 (73.7%) for scientific fitness knowledge dimension, 25.99 ± 5.35 (78.8%) for scientific fitness attitude dimension, and 33.97 ± 13.59 (59.6%) for scientific fitness behavior and skill dimension. The results of the independent sample t -test and analysis of variance showed that the differences in gender, education level, position, exercise habits, and balanced diet in daily life among nurses (regarding scientific fitness literacy) were statistically significant ( P < 0.05). Conclusion Nurses generally have an above-average level of scientific fitness literacy; this is mainly due to their good cognition and attitude regarding scientific fitness. However, their scientific fitness behaviors and skills are greatly inadequate. They are especially weak in completing WHO’s recommended amount of exercise, mastering the cores of sports skills, undergoing a professional assessment before exercise, and developing exercise plans.

Music major college students are a unique group in both general universities and conservatories. They have strong personalities, rich feelings, and have the youth and vitality of art students. Therefore, it is of great relevance to develop career education based on the main characteristics of music major college students. For music majors, there are relatively various career paths, such as music education, performance, broadcasting, media, and other industries. Therefore, the “employment issue” for most music majors has become one of the more popular topics at present. This paper explores the current career planning as well as career awareness of music college students by using 259 college students enrolled in the Department of Music of Inner Mongolia Normal University in 2017 and 2018 as the main research subjects. The results show that only 6% of music major college students know a lot about employment policies, and still 38% of music major college students know less about employment policies as well as career awareness. The results show that the overall status of career planning development of music majors is at an intermediate level and still needs to be improved. Therefore, it is very meaningful and important for universities to strengthen the career planning education for music majors’ career awareness.
