“…It should be commented that the L-lysine’s primary weakness is its high price and molecular weight, leading to a large absorber size. , From the industrial point of view, one could declare that a low L-lysine concentration is a desirable additive for the aqueous solvent of DIPA in CO 2 removal contractors. Thus, the mixture of alkanolamine and amine is appropriate to apply in large-scale/industrial applications only when the weight percentage of L-lysine is low.…”

“…Even though amines are commonly utilized solvents in the CO 2 absorption processes, they entail some economic and environmental inherent problems. The shortcomings of alkanolamines are high heat of reaction, high operating costs, the formation of toxic degradation products, and foaming, which restrict their applications on the industrial scale. , Thus, there is incentive to find a suitable alternative for alkanolamines or cultivate the amine-based solvents with additives to overcome some of these weaknesses . In this regard, amino acid salt solutions (AASs) have been recently found to be suitable alternatives to conventional amine-based solvents for CO 2 capture, since they have various merits over amines. , Interestingly, AASs have a similar chemical functional group to conventional amines.…”
