Corrosion Behavior of Laser-clad Mo<sub>2</sub>NiB<sub>2</sub> Cermet Coating on Low Carbon Steel Substrate

Abstract: A Mo 2 NiB 2 cermet coating on low carbon steel substrate was fabricated by laser cladding technique. The coating consisted of γ -(Fe, Ni) as a metallic matrix binder and Mo 2 NiB 2 particles as a reinforced phase distributed uniformly in the microstructure. Corrosion behavior of the coating was investigated and the commercial 1Cr, 304SS, and G3 were used for comparison.
