“…The corrosion potential (E corr ), corrosion current density (i corr ), anodic and cathodic Tafel slopes ( β a and β c ) values derived from PDP curves are listed in Table 2. In general, a lower I corr and higher E corr values indicates a higher corrosion resistance (Spotorno et al , 2020). According to Table 2, the E corr of SLM-700, SLM-800, SLM-900 and SLM-1000 was −197, −76.2, −23.5 and 14.8 mV, respectively.…”

“…During the first hour of immersion, the potential of both samples increased, as is typical for shell materials that tend to form a passive protective layer on their surface, shifting their potential towards more cathodic values [34]. As a result of the increasing trends, the OCP of sample Ti80-AlSi remained higher (−0.696 vs. Ag/AgCl) than Ti20-AlSi (−0.701 vs. Ag/AgCl), still for the higher amount of Titanium shifting the potential to more cathodic values.…”

“…Recently, a study on the deposition of filled skutterudite Sm y (Fe x Ni 1-x ) 4 Sb 12 thin films by PLD and on the optimization of deposition parameters was undertaken [24]. The cited skutterudite was selected according to the results of numerous previous studies of the present research group, highlighting the promising thermoelectric properties of the system and their correlation with the skutterudite crystal structure [11,[25][26][27][28]. One of the main results of the aforementioned study [24] is the recognition of the importance of performing an annealing treatment after the film deposition to increase the phase purity and the crystallinity degree, as well as to stabilize the transport properties [24,29].…”
