Corrosion resistance of the polymer matrix hard magnetic composite materials Nd–Fe–B

Effect of the Nd-(Fe,Co)-B powder particle biencapsulation with Ni-P layer on bonded magnetic materials corrosion behaviour has been investigated. Bonded magnets were prepared from single-phase, nanocrystalline magnetic Nd 11 Fe 77 Co 5 B 6 powder. Powder particles before consolidation were preliminary etched and then coated with bilayer (powder biencapsulation). The powder surface was coated as a first with autocatalytic applied Ni-P layer during 5, 15 and 30 minutes in Ni(II) containing bath and the second layer was thermosetting epoxy-resin. Impact of the used biencapsulation process was rated on the basis of polarization curves recorded in phosphate environment with addition of chloric ions. It has been established that the used biencapsulation method satisfactorily isolate individual particles of the powder and consequently, significantly inhibits corrosion processes of the final material, especially in passivating environment containing Cl − . Materiały magnetyczne zostały przygotowane z jednofazowego, nanokrystalicznego proszku Nd 11 Fe 77 Co 5 B 6 . Cząstki proszku przed konsolidacją były wstępnie trawione, a następnie pokryte podwójną warstwą (bienkapsulacja proszku). Powierzchnia proszku w pierwszej kolejności została poddana 5 i 30 minutowemu autokatalitycznemu nanoszeniu warstw Ni-P. Drugą warstwę stanowił materiał spoiwa, czyli żywica epoksydowa. Dokonano oceny wpływu zastosowanej metody bienkapsulacji na odporność na korozję lokalną na podstawie krzywych polaryzacji zarejestrowanych w środowisku fosforanowym (0,5M, pH = 3) z dodatkiem jonów chlorowy. Stwierdzono, że zastosowane metody bienkapsulacji zadowalająco izolują pojedyncze cząstki proszku, a co za tym idzie, hamują proces korozji materiału końcowego, zwłaszcza w środowisku pasywującym zawierającym Cl − .

The Use of Fuzzy Systems for Forecasting the Hardenability of Steel

The goal of the research carried out was to develop the fuzzy systems, allowing the determination of the Jominy hardenability curve based on the chemical composition of structural steels for quenching and tempering. Fuzzy system was created to calculate hardness of the steel, based on the alloying elements concentrations, and to forecast the hardenability curves. This was done based on information from the PN-EN 10083-3: 2008. Examples of hardenability curves calculated for exemplar steels were presented. Results of the research confirmed that fuzzy systems are a useful tool in evaluation the effect of alloying elements on the properties of materials compared to conventional methods. It has been demonstrated the practical usefulness of the developed models which allows forecasting the steels' Jominy hardenability curve.

Empirical Formulae for The Calculation of Austenite Supercooled Transformation Temperatures

The paper presents empirical formulae for the calculation of austenite supercooled transformation temperatures, basing on the chemical composition, austenitising temperature and cooling rate. The multiple regression method was used. Four equations were established allowing to calculate temperature of the start area of ferrite, perlite, bainite and martensite at the given cooling rate. The calculation results obtained do not allow to determine the cooling rate range of ferritic, pearlitic, bainitic and martensite transformations. Classifiers based on logistic regression or neural network were established to solve this problem.Keywords: CCT diagram, modeling, heat treatment, steel W pracy przedstawiono zależności empiryczne do obliczania temperatury przemian austenitu przechłodzonego na podstawie składu chemicznego, temperatury austenityzowania i szybkości chłodzenia. Zastosowano metodę regresji wielorakiej. Opracowano cztery równania, które umożliwiają obliczenie temperatury początku przemiany ferrytycznej, perlitycznej, bainitycznej i martenzytycznej. Wyniki obliczeń nie pozwalają na wyznaczenie zakresu szybkości chłodzenia, dla których występują przemiany ferrytyczna, perlityczna, bainityczna i martenzytyczna. Do rozwiązania problemu opracowano klasyfikatory stosując regresję logistyczną lub sztuczne sieci neuronowe.
