High dose corticosteroids may prevent liberation of free arachidonic acid and thereby inhibit formation of lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase products, 37 but effects of corticosteroids on release of arachidonic acid metabolites have not yet been evaluated in sheep given endotoxin.…”
