Abstract:ObjectivesThe current standard treatment for patients with rectal cancer stage II–III is neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy followed by surgery. Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy can be performed with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) or capecitabine (CPC) considered to be equivalent therapies.
