Cost Optimum Design of a Tropical Near Zero Energy House (nZEH)

Abstract: Housing development, as part of economic development, must be supported by energy availability in order to achieve sustainable growth. One of the approaches to supporting renewable energy promotion is to design and build energy efficient housing. However, the optimal design of such buildings faces two conflicting requirements, namely the consideration of cost effectiveness and minimum environmental impact. The high costs of energy efficient buildings, such as the near Zero Energy House (nZEH), are due to the h… Show more

“…In this work, the approach is applied to Light-Emitting Diode (LED) based lamps in comparison with Compact Fluorescent Lamp(CFL), as done in Latief et al (2019), because of the low cost of these lamps. We start by describing a filter design for the RCD before outlining our monitoring system with the discussed IoT system and Python server.…”

“…Setiap unit rumah susun sudah dilengkapi dengan 1 kamar mandi per unit, sehingga total luas 1 unit adalah 18 m 2 . Spesifikasi material bangunan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan spesifikasi desain dan material Zero-Energy Building yang sudah dioptimalkan secara biaya dan konsumsi energi (Latief, Berawi, Koesalamwardi, Sagita, & Herzanita, 2019;Koesalamwardi & Rostiyanti, 2019).…”

“…Indonesia is a tropical country located on the equator with sunshine all year round, this can be a potential and a challenge in itself in developing the NZEB design. These potentials and challenges include the use of photovoltaic (PV) panels to obtain energy, as well as the relatively high use of air conditioning which can be overcome by implementing passive design strategies to reduce heat radiation [6]. The research shows that the application of the NZEB concept can reduce the index of electricity consumption by 98.38% from 179.6 kWh/year.m 2 to 2.9 kWh/year.m 2 .…”
