Coulometric determination of herbicides containing nitro groups by reduction with electro-generated chromium(II)

Abstract: Compounds used as herbicides often contain nitro groups. For example, 2,4-dinitro-6-secbutylphenol (DNBP, dinoseb) is used as a pre-and post-emergence herbicide for the control of weeds in a variety of agricultural crops; it has also been recommended as a pre-harvest top killer for potato vines and a growth enhancer for corn.
