Abstract:The electrochemical reduction of a series of water-insoluble aromatic nitro compounds with coulometrically generated chromium(II) has been investigated. Samples ranging from 0.2 to 0.5 μmol could be determined for several substances with a precision and accuracy of about 1%. The number of electrons involved in the reductions corresponded in most cases to the formation of hydroxylamines or amines, but in some instances to dihydrazo products.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
