Coupled Harmonic Admittance Identification Based on Least Square Estimation

Abstract: Norton equivalent circuit is a commonly used model in estimating harmonic current emissions of harmonic sources. It however cannot reflect the mutual coupling relationships among voltage and current in different harmonic orders. This paper proposes a new method to identify parameters in a coupled harmonic admittance model. The proposed method is conducted using voltage and current measurements and is based on least square estimation technique. The effectiveness of the method is verified through time-domain sim… Show more

“…In this paper, a hybrid of statistical technique Least square method (LSM) [43] and a meta-heuristic technique GWO is proposed to solve the HE problem. The purpose of hybridizing two different nature techniques is to minimize the computational burden, increasing computational efficiency and accurate estimation of harmonics.…”

“…To validate the performance of presented estimator in approximating dynamic parameters, a short transient is produced in 5th harmonic from 0.12 s to 0.26 s. The simulation parameters for the HE problem and GWO-LS are stated in Table 3. These values are taken from the literature harmonic estimators [3,39,43]. Moreover, the parametric values of Table 3 are selected in such a way so that a fair comparison between the proposed and literature harmonic estimator can be performed.…”

“…The works [28,29] also considered methods that require data on the harmonic power supply and consumer impedances, which complicates the calculation procedure and the possibility of application. Research is being conducted to improve methods for measuring the harmonic conductivity of the power supply system and consumers [30,31], which are divided into non-invasive and invasive ones. The latter quite accurately assesses the parameters of the system and consumers based on the generation of current harmonics (interharmonics) of a certain spectrum into the grid and subsequent measurement of the harmonic voltage.…”

“…There are many ways to identify and locate the source of high harmonics [12][13][14]. Some of them are based on a calculation of the components of apparent power, such as distortion power [12], nonactive power [3], and nonfundamental apparent power according to the IEEE 1459-2010 standard [5].…”
