Abstract:The current manuscript addresses fluid–structure interaction (FSI) problems to the analysis of vortex-induced vibration (VIV), employing the methodology designated as IMERSPEC2D. The approach seamlessly integrates the Fourier pseudo-spectral method (FPSM) and the immersed boundary method (IBM) to solve the Navier–Stokes (NS) and continuity equations. Simultaneously, the effects of cylindrical structure, involving 1 and 2 degrees of freedom (d.o.f.) are simulated, by incorporating structural motion equations in… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
