Abstract: IntroductionThis chapter describes electrochemical approaches to achieve functional organic coatings of metals, carbon, and semiconductors, and discusses the advantages and limitations in the development of the emerging strategies, particularly focusing on examples of smart or stimuli-responsive polymer coatings.
