Covalent Grafting of Organic–Inorganic Polyoxometalates Hybrids onto Mesoporous SBA-15: A Key Step for New Anchored Homogeneous Catalysts

Abstract: Covalent grafting of heteropolyanions hybrids B,α-[As(III)W9O33{P(O)(CH2CH2CO2H)}2](5-) on 3-aminopropyl functionalized SBA-15 has been achieved through the formation of peptide bonds. The covalent link has been confirmed by using IR and (13)C CP MAS NMR spectroscopies. Electrostatic interactions between carboxylate and protonated amines have been discarded on the basis of the retention of POMs after repeated washings of the resulting material by ionic liquid (bmimCl). This is the first example of anchored mon… Show more

“…The 13 C-NMR spectrum (Figure 6; for the assignment of the carbon atoms see Figure S3) shows signals which belong to the bz-PMO (133 ppm) [35], the APTES linker (10 ppm, C-12; 22 ppm C-1; 36 ppm C-10) [53,94,97] and also to the azobenzene molecules (169 ppm C-1 , 164 ppm C-5/-6 , 152 ppm C-2, 127 ppm C-7/-4, 122 ppm C-8/-9 and 114 ppm C-3). The appearance of all these signals confirms the successful covalent anchorage of the molecular switch.…”

“…The covalent combination of POM cluster of PW 11 and 3DOM g-C 3 N 4 has achieved by taking the organic linker strategy [14]. The 3DOM g-C 3 N 4 with interconnected macroporous architecture and larger amounts of -NH 2 groups than those of lamellar g-C 3 N 4 ( Fig.…”

“…Herein, we have covalent combined the POM cluster of [PW 11 O 39 ] 7-(PW 11 ) with g-C 3 N 4 by taking the organic linker strategy [14]. The primary amine (-NH 2 ) groups of g-C 3 N 4 frameworks can participate in organic reactions to introduce the functional groups to g-C 3 N 4 frameworks [15].…”

“…As the size of the pore entrance must be suciently large to accommodate the POMs molecules into the pores of porous materials, many attempts have been made for the encapsulation of POMs inside the pores of some mesoporous materials, especially SBA-15 [31][32][33][34][35][36][37] and MCM-41 [37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44]. The encapsulation of Keggin-type POMs inside the pores of mesoporous molecular sieves may provide active catalysts for desired reactions.…”
