Cover Feature: Crystal Structures of AlCr2 and MoSi2: Same Structure Type vs. Different Bonding Pattern (Chem. Eur. J. 57/2021)

Abstract: The quite ‘hidden’ compound AlCr2 was isolated for the first time as micro‐fabricated single crystals. Crystal structure and chemical bonding analyses reveal largely different interactions as a consequence of the inverted coloring pattern with respect to prototypical MoSi2. More information can be found in the Full Paper by H. Borrmann et al. (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202100817).
