Abstract: Background: An increased incidence of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) has been reported among pregnant women infected by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), the pathogen behind coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19).
